The holy relic of the Saint was transferred by Cappadocian refugees to Neo Prokopio in Evia in 1925 and was initially placed in the Church of Saints Constantine and Helen in the village.
Since 1930, the construction of a magnificent Holy Church in honor of the saint began from the proceeds of the Holy Pilgrimage and various donations. It was completed in 1951 and the holy relic was transferred there. Near the Holy Church, a hostel was built, modeled on the existing one in Prokopio of Cappadocia, for the accommodation of devout pilgrims.
This Holy Church was inaugurated by Metropolitan Nikolaos of Chalkida on Sunday, September 21, 1969. Since then, the anniversary of the inauguration of the Church has been solemnly celebrated every last Sunday of September, when a procession of the sacred tabernacle takes place around the Church park.
