Saint James lived in our time and was abbot at the monastery of Saint David in Rovies, Evia. With his tireless prayer and enlightened advice, he helped countless believers during his life and continues to perform miracles even after his death. Despite the fact that people of all classes sought him out and visited him, simple, poor, rich, and high-ranking… he remained a model of humility and is recorded in our Hagiology as the Saint “Forgive Me”, since during his conversation with the believers he constantly asked for their forgiveness…

Dimitris Vernezos had the blessing of being related by family and frequently meeting Saint James from his childhood until his death, as well as being present at miraculous events with the Saint.
